034Motorsport Dogbone Mount Installation MK7 / 8V

Introduction

Have you recently purchased a 034Motorsport Dogbone Insert from AutoInstruct? Sweet! In this guide we’ll show you how to install the insert.

The 034Motorsport dogbone insert is machined from billet aluminium, and is designed to limit transmission and engine movement by filling voids within the factory dogbone mount. This is done without impacting on noise, harshness or vibration within the cabin.

Tools/Parts Required

Step 1

Raise the car on a hoist, trolley jack, or ramps to gain access to the underside of the engine. Take a look underneath and locate the dogbone mount as pictured.

Step 2

Using the 21mm socket and a breaker bar / impact driver / socket set, completely remove the bolt in the centre of the dogbone mount.

Step 3

Slide the 034 insert into the rubber bushing, with the 034 logo facing towards the front of the car.

Insert the bolt and torque to 130nm. That’s it!

Is this fastened with a stretch bolt that needs to be replaced? Also I’ve seen elsewhere that it needs to be torqued to 100nm, can you confirm which is correct?

Hi Mike, I can confirm it needs to be torqued to 130nm and it is not a stretch bolt.
