Introduction

AutoInstruct shows you how to remove the front door card on your GC8 / GF8 Subaru Impreza! Useful if you need to fix your mirrors, or are upgrading your sound system. Suits both passenger and driver doors.

Tools/Parts Required

  • Phillips Screwdriver
  • Trim Removal Tool

Step 1

First, pop off the cover that surrounds the door handle (1). There is one clip located near the arrow as shown.

Next, remove the screw cover plate shown (2) and remove the screw behind it.

Step 2

Remove the mirror trim piece with a trim removal tool.

Step 3

Remove the window switch assembly by first unclipping the front, then sliding the assembly forward to release the rear.

Step 4

Unscrew the screw that is located behind the window switch, then unclip and remove the switch assembly.

Step 5

The entire door card can now be removed by releasing a series of clips that are located around the entire frame, as show by each arrow.

Using your trim removal tool and fingers, gently pull the trim away from the door and release each clip. Once each clip is released, lift the trim upwards to slide it off the door frame.

Step 6

The door card should now be completely removed from the vehicle.
