Introduction

This is a really simple tutorial, showing you how to remove the steering wheel airbag on a GC8 Impreza, and many other Subaru vehicles from the same era.

Tools/Parts Required

  • Torx Screwdriver Set

Step 1

Firstly you must disconnect your battery otherwise an airbag light may be triggered.

Next, look for the access ports located on either side of the steering wheel. Insert your torx driver and unscrew both sides.

Step 2

The airbag can then be gently pulled away from the steering wheel.

Gently disconnect the yellow airbag sensor.
