Introduction

Smelly aircon? Poor performance? This guide will show you how to replace the cabin filter in your MK4 Golf.

We recommend doing this once per year.

Tools/Parts Required

  • Phillips Screwdriver
  • Replacement Cabin Filter

Step 1

Open the hood and remove the four screws as pictured. Once this is done, remove the trim panel.

Step 2

Now you can see the cabin filter. Use this opportunity to vacuum any leaves and debris that may be stuck around the filter.

Step 3

Pull both clips back to release the cabin filter frame. Remove the frame and filter from the vehicle.

Step 4

You can now swap the filter out, and install a new one into the frame.

Simply click back into position, and reattach the trim piece. Done!
