Difficulty Rating

Easy

Tools/Parts Required

  • Osram 66140 HID Globe

Step 1

Make sure the globe you are using is the same model as the old one. In this case we are using an Osram 66140 HID globe.

Warning!

Before starting be sure to disconnect the battery and turn the headlights on and then back off to “empty” the system of any residual charge

Be sure to not touch the globe with your fingers!

Step 2

Identify which globe needs to be changed, in this case it is the passenger side headlight (RHD model). Unlike some other vehicles there is nothing in the way of accessing the headlight globe housing so both sides will be identical.

Step 3

Looking at the backside of the headlight globe housing turn the dust cap anti-clockwise and remove it.

Step 4

The globe is held in with two retaining spring clips as indicated in the image. Push the clips towards the globe and out to either side to remove the globe.

Step 5

Once the globe has been removed simply unplug it from the loom and connect the new globe.

Insert the new globe into the housing and fasten it with the spring clips, and reinstall the dust cap correctly by turning clockwise.

Step 6

Here is a comparison of the old and new globes!

Step 7

Reconnect the battery and test that the headlight is working correctly.

Enjoy being able to see properly at night again!
